Introducing Lara Davidson

Dunedin has always had a solid creative sector bustling with talent. While we lost our professional theatre company at the Fortune a few years ago, the musical theatre side of things is stronger than ever and draws great crowds. Why? Talents like Lara Davidson.

A couple of months back Lara asked me to direct and shoot a reel to showcase her incredible range of talent. As always, there’s a long list of contributors who also deserve credit for the production of something like this, not least of which is Taieri Musical for their sponsorship of the project.

David Harrison – Audio/vocal production Ben Caton – Lighting Gravity Events – Lighting equipment and Ellie Swan and The New Athenaeum Theatre where we shot the video in a short space of time.

Conincidences: This one builds upon the lessons I learned shooting Darren Watson’s “Marion” video at the same venue and Lara’s dad Murray is the star of Darren’s “Ernie Abbot”. Lara’s now in London, using the video as a calling card. I’m sure we all wish her the success she deserves. Enjoy!
